Rebecca YMTOur young missioner, Rebecca Leighton, has been with the YMT for a whole term now! Time is really flying by!

Here is the latest in her updates about what she is doing and how she is helping to spread the Good News.

“Well it’s that time of year again, Christmas! And I have the pleasure of being home for 2 weeks over the holidays. Just checking in to let you guys know what I’ve been doing with the team leading up to Christmas.

ready for mission st. bb
The week before leaving for Christmas we were in mission in St. Benet Biscop in Bedlington. There was a real buzz about the place due to the fact it was nearly Christmas and we even got a school Christmas dinner! The students were all lovely, a real credit  not only to their school but also to the diocese.Rebecca as angel
We’ve also been gettiYMT Nativityng into the Christmas spirit by dressing up and recreating the nativity scene, as you do! I got the role of angel Gabriel and as you can see by the photo, I was very pleased with this role.
Overall I’ve had a brilliant first 4 months with the team and am so excited for what the new year will bring. I’d like to wish everyone in the parish a very happy and holy Christmas.
Rejoice, Jesus is here!

God bless,
Rebecca

We wish Rebecca and her team members all the blessings of Christmas for their continued work.

The parish can be very proud that Rebecca is our second “Angel” who has given up a year to work with the YMT. Amy Sewell paved the way a couple of years ago and we hope that others will follow in their footsteps…………..or should that be, flight-paths??!!
